There are 8 Design Elements:

Line, Shape, Form, Size, Texture, Value, Color, and Typography

Line

The line is the most basic element of design. It is created by two connected points.

Lines are used to create emphasis, whether that be to communicate information or convey an interaction.
They can be geometric or organic, and can be used functionally: to separate, connect and organize information, or create direction and movement, guiding the viewer's eye, or aesthetically: to create patterns and visual texture.
Straight lines can create neatness and order, wavy lines can create movement or a fun, casual vibe, and zig-zagged lines can create the feeling of tension.
We can use lines to create shapes, and when we repeat them, we can form patterns that create textures.

Shape

Shapes are two dimensional elements created by lines.

They have a length and width, and can be geometric or free-form (organic)
We can create different shapes using color, texture or value.
